Jed successfully crowdfunded his upcoming album, Prison in Paradise, on Indiegogo in partnership with Plaid Dog Recording in Boston and producer Bryan Fennelly in the summer of 2019. Jed teamed up with Plaid Dog Studios in Allston, Massachusetts in 2019 to crowdfund his first album, Prison in Paradise. His campaign was so successful that Jed was able to grow the project from a 5 track EP to a nine track album. Under the guidance of Plaid Dog's producer Bryan Fenelley, Jed recorded four songs in house, including the debut single, Space + Time. The remaining five tracks were self-produced by Jed in San Antonio, Texas. Over one dozen musicians lent their skills to the project, including Daniel Yoong, Stan Renard, Cory Mann, and Jacob Kyle. Prison in Paradise was released on April 21, 2020. "A year ago, I just had a collection of songs and the hope of being able to put out a project of my own," said Craddock. "When Plaid Dog approached me about working with them to crowdfund a project, I immediately knew that Bryan and I were going to make some awesome music together, but I was understandably nervous to ask my fans, family and friends to help fund this goal. Asking for money isn't easy! But people really showed up and expressed their support...the supporters are just as much a part of the album as I am. They are my silent musicians on every track!" he said. "I started writing the songs on Prison in Paradise over two years ago. I’ve written a lot of songs, actually, but no matter where I was in life, this core collection has followed me through my journey. This music has been my constant companion and has helped me tell my story in a way words alone cannot. Music is my way of reconciling with the world. It’s how I cope with everything, good and bad. Ultimately, it’s how I find my way to the next chapter," said Craddock. "Prison in Paradise is a conversation about the subtle things in life, the nuances that carve canyons into our individual and shared worldview. This album tells the story of how you can long so deeply for someone, something but knowing that you must remain suspended, uncertain of what comes next. It’s my anecdote for navigating through our reality and choose to react to the changing landscape. Ultimately, Prison in Paradise is about the human condition, the reality that as humans we are both cunning and cruel," he said. "Our lives are our own and yet, they are also a collective experience. We have all done things we regret. We all suffer from the human condition, don’t we? We find compassion for ourselves and others in this crazy world we live in, but then we mess it up again. As humans we are perfectly imperfect and that is beautiful. Prison in Paradise is my way of honoring our collective experience, and the people who have left their mark on my world, too. When I set out to crowdfund this album last year, I didn’t think I would be successful. But then I was and for some reason over 75 people decided to help me bring this music to life. So, this album is in honor of them, of us and our story, because I believe that it’s one worth telling."
